ABOUT
Kristi De Young
Counselling Psychologist
Owner, Light Seeker Psychology

I’m Kristi De Young, a Counselling Psychologist and Board-approved supervisor with 20 years of experience across schools and private practice. I am originally from Texas but have called Australia my home since 2002. I am mother of 3 very active boys and can often be found at a sporting ground or walking my golden retriever on weekends.
I work with adults and adolescents aged 16 and over — particularly people who are thoughtful, self-aware and still caught in patterns that understanding alone has not shifted.
THERAPY FOR THE THRESHOLD BETWEEN UNDERSTANDING AND CHANGE
Who I work with?
Maybe you're parenting a child with adhd or autism, and the people around you just don't get it.
Maybe you're at university, in a course that doesn't feel like you — and you don't know what to do next.
Maybe grief, a diagnosis, or a divorce knocked the compass out of your hands, and you haven't found your bearings since.
Maybe you're just tired — tired of the sadness, the worry, the same old wounds — and ready to finally move past them.
You’ve had surface-level conversations — and you’re ready for real change. This is where the real work begins.
This is Experiential Depth Work
I blend decades of psychological experience and research with older wisdom — science and mysticism.
Depth psychology to help create real, lasting transformation.
This is not a band-aid approach.
Work that’s built to create change that actually lasts, in a safe and warm space, with a seasoned professional.
My style is warm, direct and collaborative. I am down to earth and I value a little humour in therapy.
Currently accepting new clients for in-person sessions in Carnegie or via Telehealth Australia-wide.
