Light Seeker Psychology is the registered trading entity of Kristi De Young Psychology, ABN 15 785 742 904. We operate as a private clinical practice located in Carnegie, Victoria. In this policy, 'we' refers exclusively to the entity Light Seeker Psychology.

As a private health service, we operate under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). Your health data is legally classified as sensitive information, mandating higher security and restricted access protocols to protect your clinical journey.

- Internal Access: Enquiries are monitored by Kristi De Young and our administrative lead, Andree, who is bound by strict confidentiality.

4. Purpose
Information is requested solely to facilitate clinical sessions, provide evidence-based psychological services, coordinate treatment schedules, and process relevant Medicare claims. This ensures we meet Australian professional standards and legislative record-keeping requirements.
5. Disclosures
Client confidentiality is foundational. Data is only released under the following conditions:
• Directed Consent — such as requested reports for your referring GP;
• Safety Risk — if there is an imminent risk to yourself or others;
• Legal Obligation — in response to a subpoena or mandatory reporting laws;
• Service Delivery — via secure software providers managing our records under privacy agreements;
• Financial Processing — to Medicare or health funds for claims.
We discuss these transparency limits clearly prior to commencing your therapeutic work.
6. Security Protocols
Clinical data is archived using Zanda (Power Diary), with access limited to Kristi De Young. Administration staff access only billing and scheduling and referral uploads. All data remains stored within Australia. Physical files, if any, are secured in locked clinical storage. In accordance with health law, adult records are retained for seven years post-treatment, while minor records are kept until age 25. Once this period elapses, all identifying information is destroyed through secure methods.
7. Digital Communication
Standard email and web forms are useful tools but lack end-to-end encryption. Please share sensitive clinical details within sessions. Telehealth is delivered via Zoom; no sessions are recorded. Any online social media/written articles/blongs regarding Light Seeker Psychology or Kristi De Young Psychology is done to inform and educate and is not to be considered therapy.
